I bought this item direct from Amazon in Medium Oak. I was hesitant to purchase furniture online "sight unseen" however it looked nice, so I gave it a shot. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece. It is solid wood with top quality sliders and hardware. There are many good add-ins that come with the product, for example a knife block, knife drawer, spice rack, silverware trays, etc. The granite insert is nice, too. No cheaping out here. It has held up very nicely over the past year. This kitchen cart is certainly a bargain when you take into account the price of the pressboard stuff sold at main retailers for close the same cost. This product looks OK now that it is assembled, but you'll find annoying flaws that make it actually not worth the funds. For instance, the doors - with pre-assembled hinges - do not correctly align. In addition to those somewhat trivial problems, this factor is actually a nightmare to put together. The directions are easy to follow, but the hardware is crap - screws strip with minimal pressure - and most of the screw holes are not aligned AT ALL. The drawer was ridiculous. I had to make use of some of my own screws and then later get out the electric drill, that is one thing I've never ever had to do for any self-assembled furniture, including products that had been much less high-priced. Not certain what happened to the other reviewer, but I'd recommend he call the manufacturer as other reviews for their items suggested they were incredibly accommodating if there was a predicament (portion of the reason I took a opportunity on this even though there were no reviews in the time). Anyway...I bought this as a microwave stand for my kitchen. We have to have additional storage below our microwave and I hate having just a big open region like most microwave stands have, so this fit the bill nicely. Cake mixes and baking-type items fit on one shelf of the storage region on the left with all the door, and 3 full bags of chips fit on the bottom (with nonetheless a bit of room left more than for a huge canister of oatmeal along with other odds and ends). On the open shelves, I have one basket with food in it, and on the bottom is room to store all of my cookbooks (2 rows, one behind the other). The drawer doesn't have any rollers, but it still a good size for potholders, chip clips, along with other odds and ends. We replaced a cheaply made island that was table height (who does that?). This package arrived on time and with complete instructions. (After we ordered the first unit I saw a negative comment about this same item not having instructions,etc., so we were really apprehensive. For no reason, it turns out. Ours came with complete instructions.

The wood is an oiled finish that we were going to paint but we like the natural look so well, we're not going to paint it black. One caveat though. This unit is rather shallow... this is why we ordered a second unit.
